The Conversation Lab was founded by Kathryn Mitchell and Graham Drew — two commercially experienced practitioners who spent years watching well-equipped, well-intentioned teams underperform because of one thing: the quality of their conversations. Not their capability. Not their processes. Their conversations. That shared observation, and a combined 50 years of working inside organisations across sales, marketing, leadership, negotiation, and consulting, is what The Conversation Lab is built on.
Meet The Co-Founders

Kathryn Mitchell
Co Founder
Kathryn brings over 25 years of commercial experience across leadership, marketing, sales, and facilitation. She holds a Masters Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring from Oxford Brookes University and is an accredited coach who has worked with senior leaders across a wide range of sectors.
For Kathryn, every performance challenge has a conversation at the root of it.
Her work focuses on helping people communicate with greater clarity, confidence, and impact, and on building the kind of trust that makes teams genuinely effective.
When she is not working with clients, you will find her exploring new ideas, attempting to train her dog, and negotiating screen time with her kids.

Graham Drew
Co Founder
Graham has over 30 years of commercial experience leading teams across sales, sourcing, and consulting, on both sides of the buying and selling table. He is a Certified Forensic Interviewer — a qualification that gives him a level of insight into human communication behaviour that most training providers simply do not have access to.
Graham's focus is on the conversations that drive execution: the ones that build momentum, accelerate decisions, and turn strategy into action. His background in negotiation and forensic interviewing means he understands not just what people say, but why they say it, and what is really going on underneath.
When he is not working with clients, you will find him deep in research, at the gym, or in pursuit of genuinely good coffee.

Why work with us?
We are straightforward to work with. We do not over-complicate the process, we do not disappear after the first workshop, and we do not deliver generic content dressed up as bespoke.
We work with a network of experienced associates across the world, which means we can deliver programmes wherever your teams are based — in person, virtually, or a combination of both.
What you get is access to experienced practitioners who know their subject, care about your outcomes, and will tell you honestly what is and is not going to work. Our clients tend to come back because of that and because the work actually changes something.
